Lambrineu Foundation Children Center
Memorandum of Understanding
In November 2005, the Lambrineu Foundation, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and the Children’s Centre (CC) of The Ministry of Women Empowerment (KPP) signed an agreement on the implementation of child protection in Lambrineu’s community home. After a community-based needs assessment and several discussions with Unicef, the roles, tasks and responsibilities of each party were finalized in a the MoU.
Purpose of the Children Project

Through the agreement, the Lambrineu Foundation provides space and utilities in its community home for child care activities for children under 15 years old. Using the facilities of the foundation, its project partners Unicef and CC KPP will carry out the following tasks.
Unicef, as a supporting institution to the Children Center KPP, provides support by covering the operating expenses for the volunteers of CC KPP that provide daily service to the children. It also supports their staff with technical advice, guidance, information, in order to improve the quality of the service provided to the children, and provides technical support in the field of Tracing and Family Reunification, Psychosocial and Child Abuse Protection Program. Finally, Unicef will provide regular playing and education supplies to the center.

Children in activities

Children’s Centre KPP has a number of volunteers with various expertise. They are responsible for provide skilled volunteers who will organize daily group programs for children, and carrying out needs assessment in the community and design appropriate group programs, in coordination with the management of CC KPP, Lambrineu Foundation and Unicef. They also recruit and train local volunteers in order to have sustainable community participation. In addition, they organize a community group (with selected parents, teachers, civil and religious authorities) as a permanent reference for the CC management.
CC KPP, the Lambrineu Foundation and Unicef have agreed to have an evaluation meeting at least once in three month to see how the program of play group is developing.
